Open Music Maker and create a new song.
In the media pool, the window at the bottom of the screen, find the samples you want. These can be found under "Sounds and Videos" and are categorized as Drums, Bass, FX, Guitars, Vocals, Percussion, Sequencers, and Synths. By clicking the "Online Media" tab you can also access sounds from the Magix content library.
For each pitched loop, such as a guitar or vocals, there are seven different pitches from which you can choose. Consistently choosing the same pitch number will keep all the parts of your song in the same key.
When you have selected a sample you want to use, drag it to one of the tracks in the main arrangement window. It will appear as an audio object.
Extend or shorten your sample as desired by dragging the right edge of the audio object.
Put effects on a track by clicking the "Menu" button, located in the lower, right corner of every audio object. You can also open the Effects Rack by double-clicking on the object. The Effects Rack includes EQ, reverb, delay, compression, tempo and pitch manipulation, distortion, and the Vintage Effects Suite, which can be added to by downloading virtual studio technology (VST) effects online.
You can also add melodies and grooves you play yourself with the MIDI software included in Music Maker. In the Media Pool, click the "File Manager" tab and click the "Synthesizer" button. By double-clicking on one of the synth options, you create a new MIDI track. The interfaces for each synth program make it easy to draw out the melodies or rhythms you want with your mouse.
Adjust the loudness of each track by opening up the mixer and sliding the corresponding volume slider accordingly. The mixer also allows you to pan each track however much you want.
Add video clips to the Arrangement. You can use your own or the clips in Music Maker's content CD.
When you have found a clip you want, drag it into the Arrangement window, at the point in the song you want it to play. The clip will become an object like the audio files, which you can then drag exactly where you want it.
Add video effects, which can be found in the Media Pool under "Audio and Video Effects." Drag the desired effect directly onto the clip that you want to manipulate in the Arrangement window.
