The Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University offers a state-of-the art music education within the setting of a major university. In addition to a highly-rated music school, students have access to all the classes and experiences a Big-Ten University has to offer. A wide range of student ensembles are open for participation, including the award-winning Marching Hundred, Pro Arte Singers, Chamber Orchestra and Baroque Orchestra. Over 1,600 students are enrolled studying all major instruments, conducting, jazz studies, musicology, composition, recording arts and music education. Admission is competitive with 25 percent of applicants making the cut.

The Curtis Institute of Music is a conservatory-style school which provides scholarships for full-tuition to all admitted students. Highly selective in its admissions process, the school is known world-wide for graduating strong and gifted musical artists. The school has a theory that the “learn by doing” approach is best and provides frequent performance opportunities for all students. Offering a diploma or Bachelor of Music degree for instrumentalists, vocalists can also earn a Master of Music degree.
