    • New York University's Tisch School of the Arts' drama department offers courses in dramatic production, directing, acting, dramatic criticism, and set design. Tony Award winners Billy Crudup, Tony Kushner, and Jeffrey Wright graduated with degrees from the Tisch School. Faculty includes Martha Bowers, Margaret Araneo, and Beth Emelson.     Julliard School

    • The Julliard School is an private conservatory for drama, dance, visual art, and music, located in Manhattan's Upper West Side. Famous graduates of the drama program are Robin Williams, Patti LuPone, Kevin Spacey, David Auburn, and William Hurt. Notable faculty include Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman and Marian Seldes, a member of the American Theatre Hall of Fame. Only about 8 percent of applicants are accepted each spring.
