Intimate Jazz Clubs Near Atlanta, Georgia

Atlantans take their jazz music seriously. It's no wonder, because several jazz musicians, including Eddie Chamblee, Duke Pearson and Mary Lou Williams, were born in Atlanta. Live jazz nights are featured attractions at many bars and restaurants, and several Atlanta clubs are dedicated to jazz performances in an intimate atmosphere.
  1. Sambuca

    Churchill Grounds

    • Churchill Grounds offers live music five nights a week--Tuesday through Saturday--with an occasional Sunday performance, as of 2010. This club's relatively small space and low lighting bring to mind the intimacy of early jazz clubs. It hosts an open jam session on Tuesdays and offers a full bar. Musicians play both classic jazz songs and original compositions. As of August 2010, cover charges ranged from $7 to $15, with a minimum bar purchase of $5 to $10. Smoking is allowed and the bar tends to be quite smoky. The private party room, The Whisper Room, is available for special events.
