Turn the stereo receiver on, turn the volume fully down and turn the stereo off again, to avoid damage to the speakers when connecting the Votec.
Plug one end of an XLR cable into the microphone and the other end into the XLR input on the back-right corner of the Votec.
Plug the 1/4 inch side of the stereo cable into the "Output" jack on the right side of the Votec.
Connect the RCA side of the stereo cable into the "AUX" jacks on the back of the stereo receiver. The red RCA connector plugs into the red "AUX" jack, and the white RCA connector plugs into the white "AUX" jack.
Plug the small end of the AC adapter into the "DC IN" jack on the left side of the Votec, and plug the larger end of the adapter into an electrical outlet.
Turn the Output knob on the Votec so that the mark on the knob is pointing toward the top of the device. This is the 12 o'clock position.
Power on the stereo receiver and press the "Input" button until you are in AUX mode. Your stereo may have a dedicated "AUX" button or a button with a different label that switches between sources.
Turn the volume up slowly on the receiver while speaking into the microphone until the volume is at a comfortable level.
