How to Expand DTXplorer

The DTXplorer electronic drum kit from Yamaha is a five-piece kit that offers a variety of sounds that you can generate from the unit. In addition, you can connect external devices to the DTXplorer to expand the sound and functionality of the drum kit. Among the devices you can connect to the drum kit are amplifiers, mixers, speakers, headphones, external audio sources and MIDI players.

Instructions

  1. External Devices

    • 1

Plug amplifier or mixer cables into the "R" and "L/Mono" jacks on the back of the DTXplorer. If you don't want to use stereo playback, only plug into the "L/Mono" jack.

    • 2

Connect headphones or external speakers into the "Phones" jack. Headphones allow you to listen to sound without bothering others, while speakers can increase the sound output by the DTXplorer.

    • 3

Plug external audio sources, such as a CD player, into the "AUX IN" jack. The DTXplorer acts as speakers when an external audio source is connected, allowing you to play along with music.

    • 4

Connect a MIDI device to the "MIDI Out" jack. Once connected, you can use the DTXplorer's pads to control tones out of the MIDI device.
