How were the bagpipes discovered?
Bagpipes were not discovered, they were invented. The earliest known bagpipes date back to the 1st century AD, and are believed to have originated in the Middle East. They were likely invented by combining elements of the aulos, a Greek double-reed instrument, and the bag, which was used to store air and regulate the flow of it to the reeds.
The bagpipes spread throughout Europe and Asia, and eventually made their way to Scotland, where they became especially popular.
