1. Gather your materials. You will need:
* Yamaha keyboard with MIDI out port
* Novation Mininova synthesizer with MIDI in port
* MIDI cable
* Audio cable (to connect the audio outputs of the Mininova to your speakers or amplifier)
2. Connect the MIDI cable. Connect one end of the MIDI cable to the MIDI out port on your Yamaha keyboard, and the other end to the MIDI in port on your Novation Mininova.
3. Turn on your keyboards. Make sure both your Yamaha keyboard and Novation Mininova are powered on.
4. Select the MIDI channel on your Yamaha keyboard. This will determine which MIDI channel the keyboard sends its data on. Consult your Yamaha keyboard's manual for instructions on how to select the MIDI channel.
5. Select the MIDI channel on your Novation Mininova. This will determine which MIDI channel the synthesizer receives data on. Consult your Novation Mininova's manual for instructions on how to select the MIDI channel.
6. Test the connection. Play a few notes on your Yamaha keyboard. You should hear the corresponding notes playing on your Novation Mininova.
7. Adjust the MIDI settings on your Novation Mininova. You can adjust the MIDI settings on your Novation Mininova to control various aspects of the synthesizer, such as the pitch bend range, modulation depth, and more. Consult your Novation Mininova's manual for more information on the MIDI settings.
