Unlatch the speakers from the top of the Peavey Escort system. The Peavey Escort is a portable PA system for live entertainers and public speakers of all different types. After you have taken both speakers off, push the latches back into place to prevent damage to them and other equipment in the area.
Remove the speaker stands and assemble them by adjusting the expandable base of each stand so that the weight of the speakers is supported. Tighten the thumbnail on each so that the stands do not collapse.
Assemble the mixer stand to elevate the unit to a spot that is comfortable to work. Attach a leg to each of the four posts on the strap holder area. This will make a small table for the mixer unit. The straps will cradle the unit, but make sure the legs are attached tightly to prevent the unit from tipping once assembled.
Plug the speakers in using the included speaker cables. There are two jacks on the back of the mixer labeled L and R. Plug the right-hand speaker into the R jack and the left into the L jack. This will assure the correct orientation for any stereo sound, including a CD or stereo effects used on a guitar.
Plug the female end of the power cord into the back of the unit securely, and plug the other end into a wall receptacle. This will provide power to the Escort for use.
Plug in a microphone or a CD unit to play music, or speak using the PA system. Turn the channel volume to zero before plugging anything into the mixer to prevent feedback. Slowly slide the channel volume up until you can hear your source, whether it is a CD, guitar or microphone. Continue to increase the volume until you reach the desired level without feedback. If you get to the top and it's not loud enough, slowly increase the main volume, located on the right hand side.
