Instructions

    • 1

Prepare hot, soapy water in a small bowl. Set aside.

    • 2

Unplug your Mackie mixer from its power source.

    • 3

Remove any other connections running into or out of the machine, such as XLRs or amps.

    • 4

Remove any caps and slider knobs you wish to clean. Grasp the cap or knob and pull upward, gently.

    • 5

Soak caps and knobs in the bowl of hot, soapy water. Let the condition of the caps/knobs determine how long they should soak. For example, if your knobs have built up a lot of grime, let them soak longer.

    • 6

Scrub caps and knobs with a toothbrush. Pay particular attention to the small ridges and crevices to get them clean.

    • 7

Rinse caps and knobs thoroughly with clean water. Set aside on paper towels to air dry.

    • 8

Brush off dust and debris from your mixer with the paint brush. According to Mackie.com, "the bristles will easily remove dust from between the pots."

    • 9

Use compressed air to blow dust and debris out of the fader tracks and other smaller, hard-to-reach areas.

    • 10

Ensure that the caps and knobs have dried completely. When they have, return each to its proper place on the mixing console.
