How to Get Front Row Tickets

If you have a favorite band or artist, you have most likely been to one of their concerts without ever having been able to snag those coveted front row tickets. In order to have a shot at front row tickets you need to be ready at your computer the minute the tickets go on sale. With a little preparation and a bit of strategy, you can get those front row seats to see your favorite band or show.

Find out which ticket companies are selling tickets to the concert you want to attend. Tickets for music concerts and theater performances are typically sold through a ticketing or promotional company such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. They can at times, however, be distributed directly from the website of the artist or the theater. Sometimes more than one ticketing company has tickets to a concert.

Check for ticket pre-sales. This is one of the best ways to ensure yourself a front row ticket. If a credit card company is sponsoring the concert, they will usually have a pre-sale for their credit card holders. If you are a member of an official fan club or a member of a specific theater, pre-sale tickets may also be offered to those loyal fans.

Set up an account with the ticketing website before the sale starts. Otherwise, when you go to select and purchase your ticket on the website, you will have to spend valuable time setting up an account. Tickets are held for only a small amount of time, typically between three and five minutes. If you are delayed by creating your account, the ticket you select may end up being released before you finish, and you may miss your front row opportunity.

Open the web page selling the ticket on several different browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox) before the tickets are set to go on sale. Minimize windows small enough so you can see all four browsers at the same time. When the sale starts, search for front row seats on the website in the first browser and, while that is searching, start the search on the next browser, and so on. That way you have a better chance of getting front row tickets because you have several different browsers searching for a ticket for you at the same time.

Check ticket re-sale websites. If you are not able to score front row tickets through the official ticketing sites, check with re-sale sites such as StubHub.com or FrontRowTickets.com. On those sites, people re-sell the tickets they have already purchased. You may get lucky, but for a front row ticket, you will most likely pay even more than you would have for a front row seat through the original ticketing site.
