How to Build a Flex Mic Stand
Microphone stands are either a straight stand that has a base with one straight stem coming up from the center of it or a straight stand with the addition of a hinged horizontal arm called a boom arm. Some live sound engineers want a flexible mic stand arm for easy microphone placement. These flexible arms, called goose-neck arms, can be purchased as an after-market piece from most music stores.
