Paint all of the PVC parts black and stand them up to dry. The color is optional and can be substituted with another color.
Cut 6 pieces of the 1-inch PVC pipe that are 2 inches long. These will be used to connect the microphone base pieces together.
Hold one of the T joints so that the top part of the T is flat on the ground while the bottom part of the T is sticking straight up. There should now be 2 openings running perpendicular with the ground and one opening facing upward.
Insert one of the 2-inch PVC pieces into each of the holes running perpendicular with the ground. Repeat this step for the other perpendicular opening.
Connect the bottom openings of two other T joints to the base openings running perpendicular with the ground. You should now have a piece that looks like a capital I with a tube sticking up from the center of it.
Cut two pieces of PVC pipe that are 5 inches long and place an elbow joint on each end. The elbow joints should be affixed so that they curve in the same direction. You should now have two identical pieces that kind of look like large handles.
Push a 2-inch connector piece into each of the ends of the elbow joints.
Attach these pieces to the open ends of the T joints from your previous assembly. You should now have a square base that is connected through the center and has a hole that will hold the microphone pole in place.
Measure from the floor to just below your chin and subtract 2 inches from the height. Cut a piece of PVC that is equal in length to this measurement to create the microphone pole.
Place the microphone pole into the upward facing hole on the base of the stand.
Saw half of the top of the reducer T joint off so that you have a microphone holder.
Put the base of the microphone holder on top of the microphone pole and gently push them together to connect. The microphone stand is now completely assembled and should stand upright on its own.
