Collect a ticket stub from a significant sporting event like the person's favorite college football game, his first major league baseball game, a hockey game or a concert featuring one of his favorite artists. Think of a significant and special moment in you and/or the person's life that a ticket stub would be connected to such as a ticket to a theme park or concert where you shared your first date. Look for the ticket online (Ref. 1) if the person has lost the original ticket stub as you may be able to find and purchase one.
Pair the stub with a photo of the team, athlete, park or musician that you or the person you are making the memento for saw at the event. Buy a high quality photo online, from that exact event, if possible.
Purchase a photo mat and frame that complements the colors of the ticket and photo, or just purchase a black mat and frame as these will generally go with any ticket. Select a mat with a hole large enough to fit the size of photo you are using and with six to eight inches of mat space beneath the photo opening. Measure the ticket stub and cut a hole in the center of the mat, beneath the photo opening, to create a window for the ticket stub.
Attach the ticket stub and photo to the back of the mat with acid-free archival quality tape. Place the mat, photo and stub inside of the frame gently. Secure the backing, wrap the finished frame and present it to the person for a birthday, christmas or anniversary gift.
