Download and install the demo version of Fruity Loops from the FL Studio Web site. The demo version does not have all the features of the Fruity Loops full version, but you still can make full-length beats.
Click the "packs" button in the sample browser. Scroll down to the the "hip hop" section. Choose any of the percussions to lay down the drum pattern of the beat. The drum pattern is often the first part created in the beat, but it does not have to be.
Open the "plug-in presets" section. Scroll down to the "sytrus" section to find strings, pianos, bells, and pads to add to the beat. Ensure that you add a bass that follows the drum pattern to give it flare. Most hip hop beats have bold bass lines.
Send the music samples to the sample loader by right clicking on them. Press "send to selected channel." Check the sample loader to make sure that the samples were loaded properly. Add music effects to the sample by linking the music mixer to the sample loader.
Click the "insert" on the music mixer. Scroll down to "link selected channel." This will link the mixer to the sample loader.
