How to Connect an MPC 2000 to a Zip Drive

The MPC 2000 is a music production tool that uses sampled instruments to build drum loops and complete songs. The device can hold thousands of samples, but a musician needs many more than a full hard drive full of samples to help expand upon her creativity. That's when you look to the zip drive, which adds more room for samples. Zip drives are easy to connect to the MPC 2000, so you'll be back to your music making in no time.

    • 2

    • 3

Set the SCSI ID to "5" (the MPC 2000 is automatically set to "6").

    • 4

Turn on the MPC 2000 and press the "Shift" key and the "Disk" button at the same time to go into "Disk Mode."

    • 5

Go to the "Device" field on the MPC 2000 and choose the SCSI ID of the zip drive.

    • 6

Partition the zip drive by setting the information in the "Parts" field to "A-D," which will allow the disk drive to be partitioned into four equal spaces.

    • 7
