Insert a CD containing music into your computer's optical (CD or DVD) drive.
Open Windows Media Player. Hover your mouse cursor over the "Rip" button" and click the arrow that appears below the button.
Select the audio format that you would like to import the music CD in from the drop-down menu that appears by clicking on "Format," then the format name. For example, importing a music CD in the WAV format will result in full-quality,uncompressed music files, whereas importing a music CD in the MP3 format will result in lower-quality, compressed audio files.
Click the "Rip" button and then click "Start Rip." Windows Media Player will import the music tracks and add them to its library.
