How to Search a Computer to Load iTunes

When music files are scattered across your computer's hard drive, it is often hard to find and listen to your music collection. Knowing how to search your computer to load iTunes is essential when you wish to consolidate your music collection inside your iTunes library. By using the iTunes "Add to Library" function, you can easily search your computer for audio files that you wish to load into your iTunes library. After loading your iTunes library with all of the music found on your computer, you will be able to conveniently access all of your music through the iTunes music player.

      Open "iTunes".

      Open "Preferences".

      Click the "Advanced" tab.

      Check the "Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" box. This will ensure that all of the music loaded into your iTunes library will be stored in one folder on your computer's hard drive.

      Click "File" and select "Add to Library."

      Browse through your computer's folders and choose the audio files you would like to load into iTunes.

      Click "Choose" to load these files into iTunes.

      Repeat steps 5 through 7 to continue searching your computer to load iTunes. When you are finished adding songs to your iTunes library, exit iTunes.
