How to Check a WAV

Checking a WAV file is a great way of determining and locating any problematic areas encoded inside the WAV file. After taking a closer look at the waveform, it is easy to fix any problems with the WAV file.

      Download and install an audio editing program such as Audacity.

      Run Audacity and drag and drop the WAV file into the Audacity program window.

      Allow Audacity to import the WAV file. This may take a while, depending on the size of the WAV file.

      Click the magnifying glass with the "-" to see more of the WAV file until it is able to be viewed as a complete WAV file. Use the tools available in the "Tools" menu to view and check the WAV.
