Open Fruity Loops Studio and load up a file of composed music. To do this, click on "File," select "Open" and browse for the intended file.
Click on the "Pattern" that contains your MIDI input--the patterns are listed along the side of the arranger window.
Double-click on the thumbnail version of the melody to open it in piano roll--this will be shown next to an instrument on the step sequencer.
Click on the selector tool in the piano roll window-this is labeled with a small dotted square.
Click and drag a square around the notes you wish to copy--the selected notes will turn pink when highlighted.
Click on the downward-pointing arrow in the piano roll window, click on "Edit" and select "Copy."
Scroll across to the point where you wish to paste the copied notes, click on the downward-pointing arrow, click on "Edit" and select "Paste."
Move the notes around by clicking on the pencil tool in the piano roll window, then clicking and dragging the notes to where you want them.
Click on the small dotted square logo at the top of the arranger window (selector tool.)
Click and drag around the area you wish to copy.
Click on the downward-facing arrow, click on "Edit" and select "Copy."
Scroll along to the area you wish to paste in, click on the downward-facing arrow, click on "Edit" and select "Paste."
Move the copied data around by selecting the pencil tool at the top of the arranger window, then clicking and dragging the data to its new location.
