The Suzuki GP-3 is a baby grand piano, so the dimensions are nowhere near a full-size grand piano which is typically 7 to 9 feet. The GP-3 is 4.9 feet wide, 3.3 feet deep and 2.9 feet tall with the lid closed. The piano, including packing, weighs 225 lbs.
The keyboard has 88 keys (seven octaves) with a weighted touch response. Suzuki describes the keyboard touch as an "advanced balanced graded hammer action which delivers authentic grand piano touch." The touch response gradations are soft, normal, hard and fixed. The keyboard contains 128 midi samples with 16 quick select voice buttons. The GP-3 comes with a 64-note polyphony, or 64 various combinations of instruments.
The GP-3 contains a metronome, can adjust tuning, transpose and allows 36 registration memories. There are 100 styles of accompaniment with adjustable tempos ranging from 40 to 240 beats per minute. Other specific keyboard functions include upper and lower splits, with the keyboard divided equally between two instruments, and various harmonic effects such as arpeggios.
The recording device on the GP-3 allows five separate tracks to record and play your own songs or instrumental compositions. A 3.5-inch disk drive is included along with an external save/load memory card. Individual disks, such as karaoke or solo piano performances, can also be purchased.
Other included hardware includes a matching piano bench, owners manual and power cable. Also, like most digital baby grand pianos, the GP-3 contains a soft (damper) pedal and sustaining (sostenuto) pedal. The third (center) pedal is the programmable pedal. Six speakers are included with a three-way stereo sound delivery system.
