Sort each column header of your computer-based playlist by title, album, artist, or genre by clicking on the header. Place all of your music in one folder if you do not have a categorized playlist. Click on one of the links in the "Resources" section to download iTunes or WinAmp. Drag your music from the folder into the media player library, which will automatically categorize your music by artist and album.
Create a folder in your computer's "Start Menu" to arrange music. Double click "Start Menu" and "Programs." Right-click inside the open area of the folder, and click "New" and "Folder." Label the folder "Music," which will then expand. Arrange your songs into two folders, labeled "Albums" and "Singles." Store full albums in the first folder and singles in the unsorted folder. Click on the "+" sign next to the folder to view a drop down menu---automatically categorized by name---without browsing through each individual folder.
Click on the link in "References 3" to download an automatic ID3 tagging software for your MP3 files. Open the downloaded software and view a file tree of your MP3 files on the left. Locate the album you want to categorize and click on it so that it will appear in the center window. Left-click on the center window and highlight all of the tracks. Press "Run" and the program will find several tags with song information. Select the description that best matches your song and click "Write Information" to arrange your MP3 music by tags.
