Plug the RCA end of the cable into the RCA outputs at the back of the tape deck.
Connect the 3.5mm end to the "line in" input on your computer -- this is usually colored light blue.
Insert the tape into the tape deck, and connect the deck to a power source.
Turn on the computer and wait for it to fully boot.
Right-click the sound logo in the system tray, and select "Recording Devices." Select "WaveOut Mix" and click "Set Default." Click "OK" to save the settings.
Click start and select "Programs." Open "Accessories" and select "Sound Recorder."
Press record on Sound Recorder and press play on the tape deck. When the tape stops, press stop on Sound Recorder. The file will be automatically exported to your desktop.
Insert the blank CD into your CD drive and wait for the dialogue box to appear.
Click "Burn files to disc using Windows Explorer" to open a wizard.
Name your CD and click "Next." Drag the exported file from your desktop to the CD window. Click "Burn to Disc."
