Disconnect the scratch hardware from your computer by pulling the USB cable from your computer's USB port.
Click on the ITCH window then on the button that reads "Analyze Files." Allow the program to analyze for several minutes then click on the crate that reads "ALL."
Navigate to the library's column header. Click on the empty box. Highlight files marked "Corrupt" and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.
Open ITCH by double-clicking on the icon of the software.
Open the task manager by pressing "Control," "Alt" and "Delete" on your keyboard at the same time.
Click on the "Process" tab of the task manager window. Examine the CPU output to determine which programs are using large amounts of CPU. Possible programs include Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer and iTunes.
Quit programs using large amounts of CPU. Click on the window of the program then on the "File" menu. Scroll to "Quit" and press "OK" at the pop-up window.
