Rhapsody Playlists

Rhapsody playlists organize your favorite music in a variety of ways. You can add unlimited content except when using the Rhapsody application for mobile devices, in which case the limit is 800 tracks. The basic software lets you listen to 25 free tracks from Rhapsody's catalog each month. Add up to three devices, depending on your plan limits. Rhapsody continually updates its software and provides detailed explanations of the errors repaired.
  1. Formats

    • Full downloadable Rhapsody software is available for PC users only. A stripped-down online playlist is available to all computer users. The Rhapsody application is available as a free download for all mobile devices and PDAs, though the design is sometimes changed to suit the style of a particular interface. Rhapsody lets you create a custom playlist from scratch with Rhapsody's "Create Playlist" option. Search for artists and add specific tracks without leaving the "Edit playlist" page.

    Limits

    • Rhapsody limits playlist capabilities by subscription type. As of April 2011, the standard $9.99 per month subscription lets you play music on a home computer. The $14.99 per month "To Go" subscription allows you to add up to three mobile devices. This does not mean all registered devices can play simultaneously. Each user must have her own subscription and may only listen on one device at any given time. The playlist on the device currently logged in is the playlist that will operate. The others will shut down automatically.

    Features

    • Every song and album includes a "+" button, which adds that content to your playlist. Link your Rhapsody playlists to your social media accounts or email direct links. Both features include buttons located directly above your playlist. Create a public playlist in your Rhapsody profile by checking the "Public" option at the top of the playlist. Save the playlist formed since your last login to create a miniature playlist, or what Rhapsody calls a mixer.

    Playlist Central

    • Playlist Central is the hub of all playlists on Rhapsody, including the Top 20 User Playlists. Default sections include Genre Mixes, Celebrity Picks, Theme/Holiday Mixes, Decade Mixes, Single Artist Mixes and Label Spotlights. You can also create custom playlists to share with other Rhapsody users. Playlists designed by Rhapsody promote certain musicians and events such as awards shows. These playlists expand into full playlists, providing author's comments, a star rating and the option to purchase any MP3s listed.
