How to Update Rhapsody

Rhapsody is a music service that allows you access to an extensive library of tracks in exchange for a monthly fee. Rhapsody operates through a downloadable computer program, which has to be periodically updated in order to fix any errors that exist in the old software. There are many MP3 players compatible with Rhapsody, but the software is the main application, and is used to organize content, make playlists, burn discs and transfer the music to a portable device. Keeping the software up-to-date is easy and can be done from within the program.

Instructions

    • 1

Open up Rhapsody. The main page will display in the lower right section of the screen, and your personal library and playlist details will show on the left hand side of the screen. Above the main display is the music player tool, which has options to “Stop,” “Play,” “Skip” and adjust the “Volume.” This section also gives you information about the artist and track currently playing.

    • 2

Click “Help” from the options at the top of the screen. There are five options stretching across the top of the screen, and “Help” is the furthest to the right, and is located directly above the album artwork display on the music player tool. Alternatively, you can press “Ctrl” and “H” to open up the menu.

Scroll to the fourth option down, which should read “Check for Updates.” Click on it, and wait for the page to open up. From this menu you can also open up the Rhapsody “Help” file, which has a lot of information regarding the general use of the software.

    • 4

Click “Next” in the “Check for Software Updates” menu. Rhapsody will now connect to the Internet and search for any available updates to the software. The options that are displayed on the next page are dependent upon whether there is an update available for your software.

    • 5

Click “Next” if the screen displays “Update Found.” The software will now go through the process of updating itself. Alternatively, if there is no update available, you will get the option to re-install your current software. If you are experiencing problems, re-installing the software is an easy way to sort out any issues with the program directory files.

Click “Finish” if there is no software update available, or you don’t want to re-install the software you currently have. If this tool doesn’t work, you can download the updates directly from Rhapsody’s website.
