How to Convert a Protected WMA to Unprotected MP3

Converting a protected Windows Media Audio (WMA) file to an unprotected MP3 file is useful when you want to burn a MP3 CD or upload the song to a MP3 player. You can convert a protected WMA to an unprotected MP3 on your computer with the default audio program, Windows Media Player. However, you'll have to take a roundabout path to convert a protected WMA file because there is no "Convert" option built into Windows Media Player.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with CD burner
  • Windows Media Player
  • Blank CD-R
