How to Build a Good Drum Track With DrumCore

DrumCore is a computer software program that allows you to create your own drum tracks. The program features the music of dozens of famous drummers playing various styles of music, from classic rock and country to jazz and reggae. You can make your own drum track by layering the sounds of percussion instruments and mixing and matching the beats of your choice.

Instructions

    • 1

Access the "View" menu at the left side of the DrumCore library, which comes up automatically as a plug-in window. Click the "Drummers" bar or the "Styles" bar to sort music viewing by drummers' names or styles of music. Then select the music you desire from the drop-down menu under those bars.

    • 2

Click on the "Audio" or "MIDI" bars under the "Mode" menu. Mix and match your desired mode with a drop-down selection of loops, fills and hits, accessed under the "Show" menu.

    • 3

Open supplemental software such as ProTools, Cubase or Digital Performer in a separate window to access your digital audio workstation, or DAW.

    • 4

After making your groove selections in DrumCore, export the clip to your DAW by dragging and dropping the highlighted file to the window containing your recording application.

    • 5

Select another groove or beat in DrumCore. Build an audio loop by checking the "Queue play" box and adding another sound selection.

    • 6

Choose additional single sounds from the "Grooves" menu or a preset drum kit from the "Drum" menu. Drag and drop those sounds to your DAW audio track.

    • 7

Select "Play" in your DAW to hear your completed drum track.
