Install a music software program. Numerous music software programs are available on the market. All are based on the same principle of multitrack sequencing.
Launch your music software program, and create a new MIDI track.
Open the drum sequencer or drum machine tool.
Insert headphone jack into your computer's audio out port. Put on headphones.
Open the file browser within the drum sequencer and select a drum kit patch.
Audition the drum kit by clicking the play arrow or headphone icon on each sequencer track.
Activate the bass drum by clicking the "Select" button at the bottom of the appropriate track. The bass drum track can be identified by the letters "Bd" in the track display or by auditioning the track through your headphones.
Find the buttons numbered 1 to 16 at the bottom of the drum sequencer window. Click button numbers 1, 5, 9 and 13. Buttons illuminate when activated.
Click "Run" and you will hear the classic 4-on-the-floor bass drum beat.
Add instruments to the remaining tracks by clicking the corresponding "Select" button and then activating various combinations of the 16 buttons at the bottom of the drum sequencer window.
Experiment with different combinations of instruments to create your own electro beats.
