Check the back panel of the receiver that came with the satellite system to see if there is a coaxial cable jack for connecting a second receiver. If so, use that jack and a coaxial cable to connect the second receiver. The coaxial cable attaches with threaded couplers on each end turned clockwise around the jacks.
Disconnect the coaxial cable from an existing receiver if it does not have a coaxial jack for an additional receiver. If connecting two receivers for the first time, use the coaxial cable entering the building from the satellite and continue to Step 3 for hooking up the multiswitch.
Attach the cable from the dish to the COAX IN jack of the multiswitch and turn the coupler clockwise to secure the connection.
Hook up a coaxial cable to each of the two OUT jacks on the other side of the multiswitch.
Connect one of the cables to the first satellite receiver and attach the other cable to a second receiver.
Insert the red, green and blue (RGB) plugs on one end of the component cables into the matching video OUT jacks on the back of the receivers, then connect the plugs on the other end to the video IN jacks on each TV set.
Connect the red and white audio plugs to the color-coded Audio OUT jacks on each receiver and insert the other ends into the Audio IN jacks on each TV.
