Power off the computer. Locate the monitor output jack on the back or side of the computer. If your computer is only equipped with one monitor output jack, you will need to disconnect the attached monitor cable.
Connect the VGA cable male end to the female output monitor jack on the computer. Find the monitor input jack on the back or side of your television. Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the input jack. If your television and computer only have an S video input/output jack, connect the male end of the S video to the female S video input jack on the television. Connect the other end to the computer's S video output jack.
Turn the television on to channel 4. When a program comes on, switch to channel 3, then "Monitor" (which may be labeled as channel 2) , then "S video" (which may be labeled as channel 1). The channel number, "Monitor" or "S video" will be displayed in the top right corner of most TVs. Start up your computer. The television screen will flicker, then display the same images from your computer. If you do not see your computer images on the TV monitor, hold down the "Fn" button on the computer, and click "F4" on the computer keyboard.
Click "Start," then"My Pictures" on the computer. Move the cursor arrow to the area labeled "Picture Task." Click "View as a Slide Show" on the computer. The entire folder of pictures will display one-by-one with transitions between each of the pictures. To view videos, go to the folder where you stored the videos, and select the video file you want to display on the television.
