The local FOX affiliate is owned by the Communications Corporation of America, which is the only company that owns a local station with its headquarters in Lafayette.
  1. KATC

    • KATC is Lafayette's local ABC affiliate. It went on the air in 1962 and is owned by the Evening Post Publishing Company. KATC boasts a weekly viewership of over 377,000, all of whom tune in to watch a variety of programming including sports, game shows and local news and weather. The station has won multiple awards, including Best Local Newscast in the Acadiana market. The Acadiana market is an area east of New Orleans that extends to the Texas border. It contains 10 cities, including Lafayette.

    KLFY

    • KLFY is Lafayette's local CBS affiliate and is owned by Young Broadcasting. It went on the air in June 1955. KLFY markets itself as "Acadiana's Local News Leader." Its local morning show, "Passe Partout This Morning," (passe partout means "goes everywhere") has been on the air for over 50 years.

    KADN

    • KADN is Lafayette's local FOX affiliate and their analog channel is 15. The station's first air date was in 1980; it joined the Fox network in 1986. KADN is owned by the Communications Corporation of America and was the first local station to offer HD programming.

    KLFT

    • KLFT is owned by Delta Media and runs Sportsman Channel Programming, which focuses on hunting and fishing. Its analog channel is 21 and in May 2006, KLFT changed from its original format of music videos and began to run its current programming. It's a low-powered station, operating on just 15 kilowatts.

    KLPB

    • KLPB is Lafayette's PBS affiliate. It is owned by Louisiana Public Broadcasting and its analog and digital channel is 23. KLPB is part of the Louisiana Educational Television Authority and first aired in September 1975. The station, originally called WLPB, became KLPB in 1978.

    KDCG

    • KDCG is located in Opelousas, but serves the Lafayette market. It is a low-powered local station utilizing a mere 11 kilowatts. Owned by Acadiana Cable Advertising, KDCG airs a lot of local programming, along with classic shows such as Kojak, Marcus Welby, MD and Emergency.

    KAJN

    • KAJN airs Lafayette's local religious programming. The station is owned by Rice Capital Broadcasting and is part of "Family Vision" in Lafayette. Family Vision TV is a group of stations seen on 11 cable systems throughout South Louisiana and airs in approximately 200,000 homes.
