The state of New York has numerous television stations that broadcast a variety of shows and programs. These television stations are housed in New York City, which gives employees and viewers easy access to the main offices. Every television station in the State of New York broadcasts to New Jersey and Connecticut, better known as the rest of the Tri-State Area. The television stations in New York bring local news to residents, as well entertaining shows for every member of the family.
  1. WABC

    • The American Broadcasting Company's WABC is located in the heart of Manhattan on the Upper West Side. WABC is home to several popular local shows, such as Good Morning America, 20/20 and Nightline. Its local nightly news program, Eyewitness News covers news stories within the entire state of New York, as well as the rest of the tri-State area. WABC is channel 7 on the television dials of residents of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. A variety of soap operas call WABC home, which are placed within the afternoon time slots. WABC also has a lineup of primetime television shows, ranging from comedies to dramas. ABC World News is a local news show that airs on WABC. Disney is the parent company of WABC and its affiliates.

    WCBS

    • WCBS is located in New York City, with offices on the west and east side of the city. The Early Show is a popular local morning show on WCBS, which competes with WABC's Good Morning America and WNBC's Today Show. CBS is broadcast all over the state of New York, as well as in New Jersey and Connecticut. WCBS is home to Survivor and other popular, highly rated primetime shows. The Late Show with David Letterman is a local late night talk show on CBS, which is taped in New York City. Residents of New York State can find WCBS on Channel 2. WCBS also has a CBS News department which dedicates its time in uncovering the latest news in New York, the United States of America and around the world.

    WNBC

    • WNBC is home to the Today Show, which is a popular local morning show that is broadcast throughout the state of New York. NBC's studios are located in Rockefeller Center in Manhattan. Along with the Today Show, WNBC has a variety of primetime shows and talk shows. NBC has cable stations, MSNBC and CNBC. Bravo is also owned by NBC. Dateline and 48 Hours are highly rated primetime shows that are broadcast on WNBC. This television station is also home to local shows such as LX NBC, Open House NYC and Nonstop Foodies. WNBC can be found on Channel 4 on all televisions in New York State and the rest of the Tri-State area.

    WNYW: Fox

    • WNYW: Fox is another television station located in the state of New York. Good Day New York is a local morning show on WNYW, which provides residents with local news and traffic updates. During the afternoon, court shows are broadcast. WNYW: Fox also has Fox News, which is a cable station. Fox's primetime lineup consists of reality television, comedies and dramas. Fox 5 News is a local news show on WNYW. WNYW: Fox is channel 5 on New York television.

    WPIX

    • WPIX is Channel 11 in New York State. This television station also provides primetime shows, as well as shows throughout the afternoon. Morning talk shows are popular on WPIX. WPIX is home to the local news show PIX 11 News. In addition to New York State, this station is broadcast in New Jersey and Connecticut.
