How to Order PPV on DirecTV

Most satellite and cable providers offer the option to their subscribers to order pay-per-view events and movies using various methods. DirecTV PPV can be ordered through the satellite receiver, over the web, or by texting from a cell phone. Pay-per-view selections are automatically added to your monthly subscription bill. These options are very convenient ways to order the latest movies compared to the old-fashioned video rental store method.

Instructions

      Connect a phone cord from the the phone connection on the back of the DirecTV receiver to a telephone jack.

      Turn on the receiver and press the menu key. Use the up and down arrows to view the pay per view selection channels. Press the order button and confirm your purchase. The receiver will use the phone line to call the DirecTV system and order the selection for you. Remain on the channel and view the movie.

      Go to the DirecTV website (see Resources) and enter your user name and password to access your account. Browse the selection of pay-per-view movies and click on the movie or event to order it. Click on the button to record it to your DVR or select the 24 hour rental option.

      Use a cell phone and text "Movie" to 223322. Follow the prompts to make your selection.
