How Do I Get Music on My Phone?

There are many ways to get music on your phone and many newer phones will allow you to store music on your phone. Not only can you download them from particular websites, but you can place music on your phone from your library of music on your computer.
  1. Online Downloads

    • Download the Napster mobile download software on to your phone. Search for music you are interested in and the software can download it to your phone. Depending on your connection, this can take several minutes. Napster supports many different carriers and phones and you can even preview 30-second clips of various songs to make the decision whether to buy or not.

Use iTunes for mobile software to download music from the biggest website for digital music downloads. Many Motorola phones come with the software built-in and it can be installed on certain models. All iPhones have iTunes built in for mobile downloads directly to your phone.

With an AT&T phone, visit their music website on your mobile phone to download music for their devices. Although you can use other services, all AT&T phones include a direct link to their music store. There you can stream music, buy music and watch video.

    Direct Transfer

    • Plug your cell phone into your computer using a USB cable or data cable specifically designed for your phone. You can transfer music from your collection to your phone as many more modern phones include slots for SD cards to store music and pictures. You can drag and drop any music you would like on your phone in either a Windows or Mac environment. This is one of the easiest ways to get music onto your phone, especially if you do not have a data plan for downloading music.

Plug your Micro SD card into its adapter and insert into a card reader on your computer. If you do not have a data cable, you can transfer any of your music onto your data card and have it for use on your phone. This is often a very easy process and eliminates the need for cables.
