This online DVD club allows customers to buy four movies at a reduced price (lower-priced DVDs are $19.95 Canadian), and then receive four more for $4.00 Canadian. Shipping and handling per DVD is 99 cents. The unique thing about this DVD club is that customers can watch DVDs and then keep them, as opposed to other clubs that only allow rentals. Special promotions for Columbia House can occasionally be found in newspapers or other coupon sources.

DVD rental chain Blockbuster allows customers to sign up for the "Favourites Movie Pass" for $9.99 a month. DVDs are delivered straight to customers' doorsteps, and if a movie isn't quite what they wanted, they can stop into a local Blockbuster store and exchange it. However, the Favourites Movie Pass only allows one disc to be sent at a time, and no new releases are included in the service.

This DVD rental service allows customers to create an online queue and have DVDs delivered to their homes. Customers choose plans from one DVD at a time up to eight for a monthly cost, and DVDs can be returned at the customer's convenience. Plans start as low as $10.95 a month for one DVD and go up to $49.95 for the maximum 8 at a time. Although this is a popular DVD club in Canada, their prices are not competitive with Blockbuster and other clubs.
