Disney Acting Camps With Scholarships

Kids have a wide variety of options when it comes to summer camps, and acting camps are one choice. Acting camps that offer Disney-themed projects can be especially appealing for kids enthusiastic to perform movies and shows they've seen on the Disney Channel. Acting camps with Disney themes provide both merit- and need-based scholarships. These scholarships honor those kids who have worked hard to develop their craft and also those who would not otherwise be able to attend camp without financial assistance.

  1. Young Actors Camp

    • The Young Actors Camp, located in Claremont, California, provides experiences for all levels of young actors. The intensive programs are by invitation only, but the initial Acting Camp is open to anyone ages 7 to 17. No prior experience is necessary. The Young Actors Camp features Disney Stars that come by the camp to motivate, inspire and give advice to campers. The Young Actors Camp offers scholarships based on paying camper recommendations. For every six paying campers recommend, tuition is reduced by 50 percent. Tuition is free and airfare is included for every 10 paying campers recommended.

    The New York Film Academy

    • The New York Film Academy offers summer camps at Disney MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida. Students at these camps write, direct, shoot and edit their own short films. Acting and film camps vary in length from one week up to six weeks depending on the course of study. Financial aid is available from the financial aid office in the form of need-based tuition assistance. The potential student must show a credible need through documentation and submit and essay describing why he has a need for tuition assistance.

    Young Performers

    • The Young Performers Hollywood Boot Camp offers young actors the performance camp experience while putting them in touch with agents and casting opportunities. Students at the Young Performers Hollywood Boot Camp go on to commercials and roles on the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and other programs aimed at teen and tween audiences. Camp programs are designed for both residential and day campers, and the camp services students from all over the United States. Because the camp works to keep prices low, there are a limited number of scholarships available. These are given out on a first-come, first-served basis and are awarded to those who both apply early and demonstrate a financial need early in the application process. There are also discounts given for siblings of campers already registered.
