How to Play MP4s With Closed Captioning

MP4 video files are native to many different computer operating systems, most notably Windows Vista and Windows 7. The MP4 video format includes an audio and video file inside of it that can be played on your computer with the use of Windows Media Player. Subtitles can also be included inside of an MP4 file and can be turned on and off using the option in Windows Media Player.

      Open Windows Media Player on your computer by click the "Start" button and "All Programs" and "Windows Media Player."

      Click the "Play" menu button at the top right corner of the Windows Media Player main window. Click the "Lyrics, Captions, and Subtitles" option.

      Navigate to where your MP4 video file is in the explorer window of Windows Media Player. Double-click the MP4 video file, and it will begin to play with the subtitles enabled.
