Movie Theaters in Florence, KY

Four movie theaters were in the Florence, Kentucky, area in early 2011. Two were very near Florence, and another two were on the outskirts of town in Cincinnati, Ohio. A variety of new and older films are shown by the theaters, offering residents of Florence movie-viewing options.
  1. Rave Motion Pictures Florence 14

    • Located 1/2 mile from Florence on 7860 Mall Road, Rave Motion Pictures Florence 14 offers a variety of first-run movies on 15 movie screens. Its ticket office opens at 12 p.m., and tickets also can be purchased online through the theater's website, which is linked in the Resources section. Tickets were $10 each in early 2011, with special ticket prices available for senior citizens, children and matinees.

      Aside from showing movies, the theater has a cafe, bar/lounge, game room and party room. The theater can be reached at 859-282-7504.

    DanBarry Dollar Cinemas Turfway

    • Located 2.6 miles outside of Florence on 7650 Turfway Road, DanBarry Dollar Cinemas Turfway offers a range of movies, from first-run hits to second-run feature films, on 10 screens in a stadium-seating arrangement. All movies are shown in Dolby Stereo and DTS Digital Sound. First-run movie tickets were $8 each in early 2011, with the real deal coming from second-run feature film tickets, each of which was only $3. Matinee and senior citizen ticket prices are available.     Parkland Theatre and Entertainment Centre

    • Parkland Theatre and Entertainment Centre is just outside of Florence in Cincinnati. The theater building, which dates to the 1880s, started showing silent movies in the 1920s. Interior and exterior renovations in 1997 introduced upgraded movie equipment and other standard amenities. The movie theater has limited viewing times and movies, and its website, linked in Resources, includes movie showings and times. Tickets were $2 each in early 2011, and concession prices were $1. The movie theater shows only movies with G, PG and PG-13 ratings.

    DanBarry Cinemas Dollar Saver -- Western Hills

    • Another DanBarry Dollar Saver, the Western Hills theater, is 10.2 miles from Florence in Cincinnati and offers 12 screens that play both first- and second-run movies in a stadium-seating arrangement. Pricing is similar to DanBarry's Turfway location, with first-run movie tickets costing $8 each and second-run movie tickets priced at $3 each in early 2011. All movies are shown in Dolby Stereo and DTS Digital Sound. Soda and large popcorn refills are free at this theater, which can be reached at 513-451-2300.
