Riverton is a small town in Wyoming with only two movies theaters. This quaint town's theaters are rich in history and they have provided entertainment to residents since the 1920s. These theaters show the most popular movies as well as the classic black and white films.   1. Acme Theatre

    • The Acme Theatre was built in 1920 by Belle Mote, who was the city's most well-known businesswoman. The theater is located in the East Main Area of Riverton. The Acme Theatre still features the latest releases and it's still a popular hang out spot. The Acme Theatre is now owned by Gabel Theatres.

    Gem Theatre

    • The Gem Theatre also is owned by Gabel Theatres. The Gem was opened in 1950 on Thanksgiving weekend. The former owners of the Acme Theatre opened Gem and had a gala to celebrate the opening. The theater closed for renovation in 2002, and reopened in June 2003 with more seats and features.

    • Gabel Theatres, the owners of Acme and Gem, also owns Grand Theatre in Lander, Wyoming, which is 13 miles away from Riverton. Gabel Theatres, Inc hosts a film festival every year, featuring films shown at their theaters.
