Go to the official "Avatar" website (see References), and click on "Enter the US Site." Move your mouse to the bottom of the screen. Start scrolling to the right until you see the box that reads "Become an Avatar" and click on that box.
Click on the "Browse" button on the new screen that pops up to upload a mug shot-style photo of yourself to the site. After you've located and selected a photo on your computer, enter your first name, select your gender, and click on the "Next" button.
Resize and rotate your photo to make it fit the parameters presented to you on the site. Your eyes, nose, and mouth must all fit in the correct designated spots. Click "Next" when you've finished.
Adjust the brightness and contrast of your photo versus the one of the Na'vi creature on the right. Make the brightness and contrast between the two pictures as seamless as you can and then click "Next."
Select a piece of Na'vi headgear, jewelry, and face paint to be placed on the blue Avatar of yourself, if you choose, and then click "Next." Select the hairstyle that you want your Avatar to have and click "Next." Select the background that you want placed behind your Na'vi Avatar and then click "Initiate."
View your completed blue Na'vi Avatar. If you want, click the "Download" button to save or print out your Avatar or click the "Share" button to send the image to someone you know.
