How to Import an Alpha Channel Into Motion

Creating an alpha channel is a very different process than actually using an alpha channel. A graphic can be used as an alpha channel when specific settings are applied to it during the export process. But when importing an alpha channel into a software like Apple Motion, the process is the same as it is for importing any other file. The difference is how you edit your graphic with the alpha channel from that point on.

     Open Apple Motion. In the top-left corner of the screen are three tabs: File Browser, Library, and Inspector.

     Click on the Library tab. This makes all readable files on your computer's storage and external storage available to find for import.

     Locate the file that contains your alpha channel.

     Select your alpha channel file. Click and drag the file directly into the canvas of your Apple Motion project.
