How to Make an Animation in HD

Most media products today are being made in HD, High Definition. As a result, many professional animation programs allow animators to create HD animations. HD refers to the resolution of the video/animation; the common formats are 720p, 1080i and 1080p. Animation programs will allow the user to select which HD format he wants the project in. When the project template is set up in one of these programs, the project is animated as normal except that the output will be in HD.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the animation software. Click "File," then "New" to setup a new project. A project wizard screen should appear.

    • 2

Select a predefined HD template from the list of project templates. These templates will automatically set up the animation project for HD animation. Select "1080p" as it is the highest resolution and highest quality. The project will open.

    • 3

Animate the project as you normally would using the software. The final output can be rendered in HD. When the animation is done, render the project in the same output format as the project. In this case, "1080p."

Locate the final rendered file on the computer. Right click on the file and click "Properties." Click "Details." Check to make sure the file is in HD. For example, 1080 HD files will have a "Frame Width" of "1920" and a "Frame Height" of "1080."
