How to Make a Video Where It Looks Like You Are Flying

Since the first Superman comic, superheroes have captured the hearts of American youth. Who wouldn't want to fly, have super strength, heat vision and invulnerability? Beside comics, superheroes also appear in video games, cartoons and movies. Make your own flying superhero video using a computer and a digital video camera.

  • Movie projector screen
  • Tripod
  • Cart
  • Video editing software
  • Rope

Instructions

      Dress in dark clothing including gloves and hat. Mount your camera on the tripod. Cover the cart with a white sheet and attach a rope to its base. Open the projector screen and place it in front of your video camera.

      Stand in front of the screen and begin filming using the default settings at 30 frames per second. Look up and into the sky raising your left arm dramatically. Pull your right arm back past your body. Jump into the air. Stop filming.

      Carefully lay across the cart. Your left arm is extended and your right one is by your side. Begin filming. Two friends, standing off screen, begin slowly pulling the cart. Stop filming when your head reaches the edge of the projector screen.

      Open your film editing software. Use the magic wand removing the white background from your file. Replace it with a transparent background. Loop your flying sequence increases its length. Save your new file.

      Go outside and record local buildings and skyline. Load the file into your video editing software. Merge your transparent flying file with the skyline movie.

      Add a title and background music to complete your video.
