  1. How to Make a Cat Face with Makeup

    • 1

Apply a base color makeup to your face. The color you use will vary depending upon the type of cat you want to be. Brown and gold blended together will create a good starting base for just about any cat. Spread the base makeup over all of your face.

Use black eyeliner to draw the details. The key to good cat makeup is shaping the eyes and the nose to achieve the feline look. Draw upward curved black lines from the corner of each, then lightly shadow under each eye with the eyeliner pencil. Use the eyeliner to continually adjust lines around the eye until you achieve a slanted cat appearance. Be creative. There are no rules. The object is to get the feline look that pleases you. Add green eye shadow to your eyes for a brighter effect.

    • 3

Use black makeup to achieve shadow and feline facial structure. Put a little black makeup at the corners of the nose and blend upward so the black smooths into the base color. You don't want the black to stand out. It should just add depth. Do the same under each cheekbone, following the line of the cheekbones until there is some definition.

There are several ways you can create the feline nose. Use a movie prosthetic if you can afford one. Attach it over your nose with liquid latex. You can cut one from Styrofoam and paint it as well, or you can fashion a feline nose from white clay. A little paint and some facial adhesive (see Resources) will allow you to work wonders with clay. If you prefer not to use props, you can draw a black circle on your nose and color it with black face paint or black eyeliner pencil. Use curved lines and more black makeup to achieve a deepened effect.

Draw tiny black dots above your lips with a black eyeliner pencil. Outline your lips with black eyeliner as well. Apply red or black lipstick to your lips. You can draw whiskers with black eyeliner pencil. Another good idea is to use straw from a broom for whiskers. Arrange and apply the straw to your face with spirit gum.
