How long did it took for Auguste Rodin make the Thinker?

Auguste Rodin didn't create "The Thinker" in a single, short burst. The process was much longer and involved multiple stages:

* 1880: Rodin initially sculpted the figure as part of a larger work called "The Gates of Hell". It was originally titled "The Poet", and was intended to depict Dante, contemplating the inferno.

* 1889: Rodin reworked the figure, creating a larger-scale version, and renamed it "The Thinker".

* 1902: The bronze cast of "The Thinker" that we know today was finally finished.

Therefore, it took approximately 22 years for Rodin to complete "The Thinker" from the initial concept to the iconic bronze sculpture.
