Select any card from a regular deck of cards and lay it face up on your work surface.
Tape one end of invisible thread to the top left corner of your card with a small square of double-sided tape.
Wrap the thread around the playing card length-wise four times, keeping each loop equally spaced across the surface of the card.
Cut the thread and tape the end to the lower left corner of the card with double-sided tape. Your card should now be tightly wrapped by a spiraling piece of invisible thread.
Apply a strip of double-sided tape across the center of the face of the card. Press another card atop the face of the first, concealing the thread and tape.
Place the taped pair of cards in the center of the deck.
Ask your audience to stand in front of you. Fan out your deck of cards across a table.
Select the rigged pair of cards with the air of randomness. Make a C-shape with your left hand, pointing your palm toward the ceiling. Hold the rigged cards in your left hand with the back facing up. One end should be against your four fingertips and the other against against the tip of your thumb.
Pull out the wooden match and place it across the top of the lines of invisible thread.
Wave your hand over the cards and match, slowly pinching your thumb and finger together, thereby bending the cards inward toward your palm. The match will seemingly float above the cards across the invisible thread.
Slowly bring your thumb and fingers apart to flatten the cards and lower the match. Offer the match to the most impressed audience member.
