      Download open source greeting card software such as Photo Card Maker 1.0.2 (photo-card-maker.com), Greeting Card Studio 1.75 (new-soft.com) or Greeting Card Builder 2.1.0 (greetingcardbuilder.com).

      Run the software program by left-clicking the file and then right-clicking "Open."

      Select a background template from the program to match the intention of the greeting card you are designing.

      Upload pictures to the program, and arrange in the background card template.

      Add text to the front and interior of your card, as desired.

      Add borders with available template options, or create your own with a freehand or airbrush tool included in the program.

      Print your card. Distribute it manually, email it to friends, family and business associates, or post it to your website, blog or other public networking site.
