2. Locate the whammy bar nut. It is usually located on the back of the bridge, near the base of the whammy bar.
3. Unscrew the whammy bar nut. This can be done by hand or with a wrench.
4. Pull the whammy bar out of the guitar. Be careful not to lose the spring that is located inside the hole.
5. Reinstall the strings.
