by Jalal al-Din Rumi
In the forest of the world,
I am a tree.
My branches reach for the sky,
And my roots are deep in the ground.
I am nourished by the rain and sun,
And I give shelter to the birds and animals.
I am a part of the forest,
And the forest is a part of me.
The river flows through the forest,
And it sings a song of life.
It washes away the dirt and debris,
And it leaves behind a clean and fresh path.
The river is a part of the forest,
And the forest is a part of the river.
They are two halves of the same whole.
I am the tree, and I am the river.
I am the forest, and I am the world.
I am all things,
And all things are me.
I am the One,
And the One is all.
There is no separation,
Only unity.
I am peace,
And I am love.
I am joy,
And I am bliss.
I am everything,
And nothing is left out.
I am the forest and the river,
And I am the One.
I am all things,
And all things are me.
